Board of Ambassadors

They lead participants in the University Ambassador Program as they prepare to become powerful industry honchos.

What is the Board of Ambassadors?

The Board of Ambassadors (BoA) — Join top university students from across Ontario and be part of the "Student Council" for the University Ambassador Program (UAP). They act as an advisory and advocacy group for the CA profession. The BoA is comprised of accounting students from over 20 university campuses across Ontario. Each university has both a junior (2nd year) and senior (3rd year) representative.

Who can become a BoA Rep?

CAs rule the world. Why not practice your leadership skills as you pave your way to the top? The BoA rep position is a high-profile role that requires professionalism, leadership and initiative. That's why it's important to have the following:

  • Membership in the UAP
  • A minimum B grade average
  • Entering second or third year of university in the fall of year selected
  • An essay telling us why you want to be a BoA Rep including your qualifications and interest
  • Letters of reference from a university faculty or staff member

What do BoA Reps do?

  • Attend ICAO meetings
  • Promote the UAP on campus
  • Promote and recruit students for the CA$H competition
  • Promote and participate in CA-related events on campus
  • Hold regular office hours

How are BoA Reps chosen?

Ahhh, the passing of the crown. The current BoA Reps will assist in the appointment of their replacement on campus. The Board of Ambassadors selection committee may include members of the university's accounting club/society and will make use of the criteria listed below and to the left. Where requested, the ICAO Career Information team will assist in the selection of incoming Board of Ambassadors.
