Graduating this year?
Win $500 for your university education with the YCA Award

 

What It's All AbouT:

The YCA Award is designed for graduating York Region High School students with an interest in studying business at the university level.

 

Prizes and Awards:

The top three students will each receive an award plaque and a cheque for $500 provided by the York District Chartered Accountants Association.

 

Winners will be announced in early June 2010.

 

Eligibility:

To qualify, a student must be a graduating full-time student attending high school in York Region.
The student must be a member of the Associate Student Program with the Chartered Accountants
of Ontario - to become a member, go to: www.guidetorulingtheworld.ca/ASPHighSchoolRegister.aspx.

 

How to Enter:

To enter, all you have to do is submit an essay (maximum 300 words) on how the CA designation would help you "Rule" the World of Buisness. Winning entries must demonstrate knowledge of the skills, attributes and attitudes required for success as a CA. Essays will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Research demonstrated
  • Creativity
  • Effectiveness of writing style
  • Spelling and grammar

All entries must be attached (Word document) to an e-mail submitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, attention Jennifer Diebolt: jdiebolt@icao.on.ca

Your submission must also include the following:

  • Name of your high school
  • Name of your Business/Accounting Teacher
  • Contact phone number
  • ICAO ID Number

Only submissions received electronically will be considered for the award.

The deadline for entry is Friday, May 20, 2010 at 5:00 pm.
